What this site collects, and what it does not.

Short, because there is not much to say. This site runs no analytics, sets no tracking cookies, and shows no adverts. The only personal data it handles is what you type into the contact form, and it is used to reply to you and nothing else.

Who is responsible

This site and the practice behind it are run by Alin Boatca, a remote technical SEO and web development practice based in the United Kingdom. For anything on this page, including a request to see or delete your data, email [email protected].

What is collected

Only what you submit through the contact form: your name, your email address, and the message you write. That is the entire list. There is no account to create, no newsletter, and no field that asks for anything you are not choosing to tell us.

The site does not run Google Analytics or any other analytics product, does not use advertising or tracking cookies, does not embed social media pixels, and does not build a profile of you. You can confirm most of this yourself: open your browser developer tools on any page and watch the network panel.

Why, and the legal basis

Your contact details are used for one purpose: to read and answer your enquiry. The lawful basis under UK GDPR is legitimate interest, namely responding to someone who has deliberately got in touch about work. Your details are not used for marketing and are never sold, rented or shared for anyone else's purposes.

Who else processes it

Three services are involved in a contact form submission, and only that:

  • Cloudflare hosts the site and runs the function that receives the form. It also provides Turnstile, the anti-spam check on the form, which inspects the request (including your IP address) to tell a person from a bot. Turnstile is designed to do this without profiling you or tracking you across sites.
  • Resend delivers the submitted message to our inbox as an email. Your name, email and message pass through it for that delivery.
  • Email. Once the enquiry arrives as an email, it sits in a standard mailbox like any other correspondence.

Cloudflare and Resend are established providers with their own privacy and data-processing terms, and both operate internationally, so a submission may be processed on servers outside the UK under the standard safeguards those providers use for such transfers.

How long it is kept

An enquiry email is kept for as long as it is useful to the conversation or any work that follows from it, and deleted when it is not. If you would like a message you sent removed sooner, ask and it will be.

Cookies

No tracking or advertising cookies are set. The anti-spam and security layer provided by Cloudflare may set a strictly functional cookie to protect the site and verify the form, which is the kind of essential cookie that does not require a consent banner. There is nothing here collecting analytics to consent to.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to see the personal data held about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted, and you can object to its use. Since the only data here is an enquiry you sent, that usually means asking us to delete a message, which we will do. Email [email protected] and it will be handled directly, by the person who received it.

If you are ever unhappy with how a request was handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If the site starts doing anything with data that this page does not describe, this page changes first. It is generated from the same build as the rest of the site, and its last-modified date is published in the sitemap alongside every other page.
